Graduating early, Keegan left home at 17 to attend the exclusive SUNY Purchase Film Conservatory and then the Atlantic Theater Company to study directing and acting. Throughout this time Keegan was making a name for himself as a film score composer and developing his talents as a performing songwriter in New York’s Lower East Side.
